Novel: Just Mercy

After listening to Super Soul Sunday podcast with Oprah and Bryan Stevenson, I knew I had to read "Just Mercy". As a young lawyer, Bryan had the opportunity to work with individuals on death row. This book gives you insight into the massive incarceration and extreme punishment in the United States. The stories he tells about young men found guilty of crimes that they did not commit, serve time in solitary confinement for years to come, and loss of individual freedom is heartbreaking. Best quote: "Each of us is more than the worst thing we've ever done". Grab a jar and please join me on this journey to discover what brings you everyday joy!
